Our People & Approach

Sofija Zlatanova is a music educator, performer, and researcher whose work bridges early childhood education, music pedagogy, and inclusive practice. With a background as a professional violist and extensive experience teaching children of all abilities, she founded the Mini Mozart Institute to offer a thoughtful, developmentally grounded approach to early music learning.
Sofija holds a Master’s degree in Music Education with a focus on Autism and teaches at Berklee College of Music’s Institute for Accessible Arts Education. She is currently completing her clinical training in music therapy, guided by ethical research principles and a belief in music as a tool for learning, wellbeing, and social connection.

The Mini Mozart Institute works with a dedicated accompanist who supports children’s musical experiences through live piano collaboration. Accompaniment is used to enhance listening, structure, and musical interaction, allowing children to engage with classical repertoire in a responsive and supportive environment.
Live accompaniment plays a central role in our programs, offering flexibility, musical dialogue, and a richer learning experience than recorded music alone.
